There are several options, which depends on your setup and Exchange version, in Exchange 2010 you can use: CAS Array - to implement more than one Client Acccess Server Database Availibility Groups - to implement HA for mailbox role For Edge Transport you can simply deploy 2 of them to load balance (and it also serves the purpose that one will take over when second fails) Hub Transport - Exchange 2010 by default load balance between avaible HT servers in same AD site With kind regards Krystian Zieja http://www.projectnenvision.com Follow me on twitter My Blog

It's really an open question as there's different roles with Exchange which you can make HA/FT. You haven't mentioned what exchange version you're using, but if you're usng exch 2007 and you only have two servers, then there's a few options and limitations. I.e you can't really use CCR for your mbx roles with just two servers. Your lacking servers. CAS would be difficult to achieve too. Secondly if you;re going to deploy Exch, I would personally go for 2010 now and not bother with 2007 unless you have a reason to do so. With 2010, there's a few options but really depends on your needs. For your company to continue to receive emails, you need to consider your MX records in addition to Exch deployemnt. Have multiple MX records poiting to your Exch servers. Also, depends on your AD site topolgy. So bear this in mind. As suggested above you can use DAG, CAS Array. HUB L/B depends on your site. Also, add both servers to your send connector to provide l/b & redundancy for externa routing.Sukh
