Create shapes (boxes) with text from list

Hello Everyone,

I am looking to make a diagram for seating arrangement for my office. I wish that I could put a list of Employees/Desk Numbers and share that list with Visio and it will create that many number of boxes with each having one name/desk number and then I can arrange them\.

Hi varun,

Your request could be done via Office layout template. Please split the process with three steps:

  • Create a Excel file that include all the information about Employees/Desk Numbers. etc....
  • Create your Office layout.
  • Link the data of Excel to shapes of Visio, and then assign them.

I upload the sample to One Drive, you can refer to:

If I misunderstand something, please feel free let me know.
