Create new SMTP domain
Hi, I have exchange 2007 SMTP domain xxx.com.sa in xxx.com.sa domain. Recently, we purchased a new domain name yyy.com.sa and we do not have yet AD and Exchange infrastructure for it. Is there a way to host our new SMTP domain yyy.com.sa on the existing exchange server installed on xxx.com.sa domain? To re-format the question, we need to setup emails: @yyy.com.sa on the existing exchange whose SMTP domain is @xxx.com.sa Thanks

Just add a new accepted domain and then update the default address policy or create a new one.Matt Cline - MCSE+M, MCITP: EA | EMA (2007, 2010) | Lync 2010 Blog: exchangeadventures.com

Ok, this means I can create a mailbox with the new SMTP address? What about the MX record? should mail.yyy.com.sa point to the same IP to which mail.xxx.com.sa points?

Hi Ahmad, The MX records on your new domain must point to the same IP as your other mail domains.KPN Consulting - Technical Consultant www.bart-timmermans.nl

You can use email address policy to add new email address to the mailboxes. just Bart said, the MX record on your new domain must point to the same IP as your old mail domain point to. Hi, According to this link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996314(EXCHG.80).aspx it is necessary to create send and receive connectors for the new SMTP domain before creating the accepted domain and new address policy, how can I do this? Morever, does the new SMTP domain requires an existing active directory domain?

As mentioned above Step -1 - point the MX record of the new amil domain to your existing Exchange Server or 3rd Part Antispam servers Step- 2 - Add the new email domain to the Accepted domain Step 3- Create a new mailbox for the newly accepted email domain Step 4 - Test email internally and externally Do post here if it works or not.Where Technology Meets Talent
