Create a contact group from someone else contacts

Hi,

How does an assitant can create a contact group with his or her boss contacts?

I understand how to give the right permissions so the assitant can access his or her boss contacts and I know how to create a contact group. But i am not able to access the boss contacts in order to add them to a new contact group. When I create a new contact group and I click on Add members, I can only see my personal contacts, not someone else's...

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

It is currently by design that we can't add members directly from the Boss's Contacts folder when creating the group, but we can work this around easily:

Instead of adding the members from the Add Members button, we can create the group first, then open the boss's contacts folder in the assistant's Outlook:

File -> Open & Export -> other User's Folder, select "Contacts" as Folder type, then enter the boss's name, click OK.

The boss's Contacts folder will be opened in the assistant's Outlook, use Ctrl + C to copy the contacts in the boss's Contacts folder, then switch to the new Group, click Ctrl + V to paste the contact to the new folder. We can do bulk copy and paste by Ctrl-Select the contacts.

Hi,

I am not sure I understand how to copy the contacts in the contact group?

Just to be sure : i am not talking about contact folder but contact group (distribution list).

When I open the contact group and try to paste (ctrl+V) nothing happens. Actually it's like I did paste in the title bar...

Thanks for your help.
