Create a Manual Remote Shell Connection - Exchange 2007
Hi all Does anyone know if it is possible to create a remote powershell call to a Exchange 2007 server and run Exchange 2007 cmdlets? I have POwershell 2.0 etc implemented and can run remote powershell sessions but this only runs non-exchange related cmdlets. This article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd335083.aspx says how to do it for Exchange 2010 but doesn't seem to work for Exchange 2007 Cheers Dan

Hi, From miscrosoft, Remote PowerShell was provided only for Ex 2010. For Ex 2007 I dont know any method to invoke remote exchange PS cmdlets. Regards,Laeeq Qazi|Team Lead(Exchange + Sharepoint + BES + DynamicsCRM) www.HostingController.com

Yes Laeeq is right. Powershell 2.0 does not work for Exchange 2007. It will only work against Ex2010

This will not work against Exchange 2007 Server. In Exchange 2010 the Exchange Management Shell and Exchange Management Console was rewrittent to work with PowerShell v.2.0 and WinRMS. Exchange 2007 does not work in this way and has no way to understand RBAC. Even with WinRM and PowerShell 2.0 installed on an Exchange 2007 server it doesn't create the PowerShell virtual directory and app pool in IIS which is how the connection is made. It will not function in the way that you are looking for.
