Crazy Bored Staff!! How to stop them taking up bandwidth??
Hi, we run an accountingbusiness (40 PCs & growing).. staff PCs connect to an SBS 2003 domain. For the last couple of weeks our "IT guy" (high school kid) reported complaints about internet lag.. Accounting isn't extremely exciting so we eventually worked out staff were accessing facebook, http://twitter.com and we had about 1000 hits for http://doseregards.mybrute.comwhich staff must be closing as soon as they see me walk by because I never see it open on their screens myself....What doI need to look at to block access to these sites, I think it will help with the lag? Should I hire someone to come out and do it or is it an easy option in SBS?ThanksMaurice Sanchez

Hi Maurice, First, please understand that we mainly discuss Exchange issues in this forum, in order to get a prompt and exact answer, I suggest writing a post on our SBS newsgroup:http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs&cat=en_US_77750084-cabb-4056-9708-d9264353c1b3&lang=en&cr=US I think the best way is not technical restriction. Adopt a computer user policy for your organization, require all staff to read and sign. If they still visit the unwanted websites or dont comply the policy, you can restrict the website in technical way. Hope this helps. Thanks, Elvis
