Corrupt PowerPoint File Recovery
Are there any tools available to recover a corrupted PowerPoint file? My wife had spent about a week putting one together and (luckily) when done presenting she wanted to save it and MOVED (not copied) it to a key drive (big mistake to trust the move). When she got home the file was corrupted and she cannot open it.
Anyone know any possibilities to recover this?
Thanks!

Open Office can open files created in MS Office. Consider trying to open this file with the analogous Open Office application. While there are no guarantees, it might work and, depending on the value of the data, worth a try.
PowerPoint Repair Toolbox demo version tool,it can you fo repair powerpoint:

I have managed this by viewing the corrupt file through PPT viewer. On "Save", I lose some formatting but can generally retain data.
Also, try to recover the original file. Perhaps a slightly earlier version?
I hope you were able to recover your file.

Hi lexterriteb,

We can try to locate a TMP file on PC. Searching all or part of the file name, type *.tmp. 5.After Windows finds your TMP files, click the Date Modified button at the top of the Search Results pane. You might have to scroll to the right to see this button.

If AutoSave is open, you can also recover PPT file from it.

You can try recovering your corrupt ppt file with the following way.

Generating  a new blank presentation

Downloading PowerPoint Viewer and open your corrupt ppt file into it

Dragging the corrupt PowerPoint icon from one window to another

However, I suggest you to choose third party tool, PPT recovery tool because in some cases above options do not work for e.g a highly corrupt ppt file can not be recovery by those way. But PPT file repair tool is capable to repair any corrupt ppt file.
