Copy and paste not working properly in Outlook 2010
Interesting problem has appeared the past few days.  User tries to copy an email address from external application and then goes to outlook and forwards an email. the email opens and tries to paste the copied email address and it doesn't appear. If they go back to the source and copy again and return to the forwarded email now open and paste it works. It should be able to copy and paste in two steps not having to go back and forth multiple times. any ideas?

Hi

As per the information and details provided by you, copy and paste is not working in Outlook 2010, please follow these steps: -

  • In Outlook 2010

File > Options > Mail > Editor Options > Advanced > Option group: Cut, Copy & Paste

Setting all the pasting options to Match Destination Formatting, Merge Formatting or simply Keep Text Only will make sure that pasted text blends in nicely your current email.

I hope this information will be helpful for you.

Thanks and regards

Hi,

How did you copy and paste the email address? Via pressing Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V? If this is the case, please also try copying/pasting via right-clicking and click Copy and Paste from the context menu.

After copying the email address first time, please try to paste it into other text editing program (such as Word and notepad) to see if it will paste correctly.

In addition, I'd like to know if this issue continues when we copy from other program and then paste into Outlook, such as Internet Explorer.

If the issue doesn't exist in other programs, it means the problem lies with the specific external application. In this case, I'd recommend you contact the support of the external application to get further assistance.

Please let me know the result.
