I have an user that is having trouble copying and pasting formulas from one spreadsheet to the next, when the user tries to copy and paste into another spreadsheet recent data it is only copying the values not the formulas. Can someone help on this I am using microsoft excel 2010.

Does the user open two workbooks in two different instances of Excel, for example to be able to move the workbook windows independently of each other? If so, the instances see each other as external programs, so copying between them doesn't preserve Excel-specific aspects such as formulas.

the user is opening two different workbooks on seprate screens and trying to copy and paste data from one spreadsheet to the next but it is only copying over the value not the formulas.

If the user is opening two workbooks on different screens in Excel 2010, I strongly suspect that he or she opened two instances of Excel.

Excel 2013 is the first version that lets you open workbooks in completely separate windows with one instance of Excel.
