Convert Traditional Chinese to Simplified Chinese or vice versa in Word 2010
How do I convert traditional Chinese into simplified Chinese or vice versa in Word 2010 ? There used to have the Proofing Tools for Office 2007 but this product is NOT available for Office 2010.

Hi,

You can use "Translate" function in word 2010.

Click Review->Translate, you can choose translate document or selected text.

When you choose translate document, it will pop-up a dialog that allow you send this document to MS translator service, then you can choose the language you want it be translated.

If you choose translate selected text, you can see research window on the right of screen. And you can select Chinese (Taiwan) under translation tab.

This is what I asked for. The translate function was in previous Microsoft Office Proofing Tools and the translation from Traditional Chinese into Simplified Chinese and the text will be convert in the word document instead of sending the document to MS translator service. It seems that you don't know what am I asking for.

I'm also having this difficulty.  There should be a "Convert" command button in Word 2007's Review tab, that allows CONVERSION, not TRANSLATION, between Traditional and Simplified Chinese.  I can't get it to appear no matter what I do -- I can get the Translate task pane, but that's not what my users are looking for.  Thank you.

Same here too but I found that there's a "Chinese Conversion" function in the Office 2010 but the tab is blank, which I can't click it to convert the text.

I have solved the problem after installed "Microsoft Office Proofing Tools Kit Compilation 2010". Click Review and there is a "Chinese Conversion" section.

There is "Simplified", "Traditional" and "Convert with Options" button. Clicked on "Simplified" will translate the traditional Chinese into Simplified Chinese and clicked on "Traditional" will translate Simplified Chinese into Traditional Chinese.

Finally i found the way to get the Chinese conversion on office 2010.

Your PC must be installed the Simplified and Traditional language pack first. Only that the Review tab page will auto show the Chinese conversion.
