To recover corrupted OST database, you just need to create a new copy of your OST file from Exchange server. For this, follow given below steps:
(First Method)
1. Exit Outlook.
2. In Control Panel, click or double-click Mail.
Where is Mail in Control Panel?
Mail appears in different Control Panel locations depending upon the version of the Microsoft Windows operating system, Control Panel view selected, and whether a 32- or 64-bit operating system or version of Outlook 2010 is installed.
The easiest way to locate Mail is to open Control Panel in Windows, and then in the Search box at the top of window, type Mail. In Control Panel for Windows XP, type Mail in the Address box.
NOTE The Mail icon appears after Outlook starts for the first time.
The title bar of the Mail Setup dialog box contains the name of the current profile. To select a different existing profile, click Show Profiles, select the profile name, and then click Properties.
3. On the E-mail tab, select the Exchange account, and then click Change.
4. Clear the Use Cached Exchange Mode check box.
5. Click More Settings.
6. On the Advanced tab, click Offline Folder File Settings.
7. Click Disable Offline Use, and then in the dialog box that appears, click Yes.
NOTE If you cannot click Disable Offline Use, this indicates the Use Cached Exchange Mode check box was not cleared in step 4. This check box must be cleared.
8. Again, click Offline Folder File Settings.
9. Click OK.
10. In the dialog box that appears, click Yes.
11. Under Cached Exchange Mode Settings, select the Use Cached Exchange Mode check box.
12. Click OK, click Next, and then click Finish.
13. In the Account Settings and Mail Setup dialog boxes, click Close.

If above mentioned steps would not work in your case, simply go for Second Method:
Now, try to convert OST file into PST format but keep in mind that the manual conversion process can only be performed till user is connected to MS Exchange Server.
1. Open MS Outlook
2. Click the File Menu
3. Select the "Import and Export" wizard or press 't'.
4. From the list, click the "Export to a file" option and then click Next button.
5. Select Personal File Folder (.pst) and then click Next button.
6. Select the items to be exported or Click on parent root and check the Include sub-folders option.
7. Browse and select the target folder for saving the email items.
8. Click the Finish button.

Hi Carsten,
I am trying to import OST file on Outlook (2007) without Exchange Server. Can u plzz explain the way to do same, if any other?
Hi,
In Outlook, only .pst files are used to import or export; .ost files are local cache which are used for synchronization.
Based on your description, I'm not sure how you got this .ost file. If it's from an Exchange Account, is the mailbox still available? If yes, you can setup the account in Outlook and get all items again, create a .pst file and copy items to the new created .pst file. This .pst file can be imported to another account.
If you don't have the mailbox of the .ost file anymore, I suggest you try some tools to convert the .ost to .pst format. Microsoft doesn't provide such a tool, please keep a backup before using any 3rd-party toos in case the .ost file gets damaged permanently.
