Controlling visibility of the GAL (Exchange 2010 SP1)
Hi, I hope someone could point me in the right direction, I have external people logging on and using our exchange e-mail system these are partnership schools. However I would really like a way of hiding/controlling what is viable with regards to our GAL, I don’t want to completely remove it from the users. But I do have confidential details on some of the users attributes (visible in the GAL) I would like to hide from these external users. I know you can granular control these details in AD but this isn’t reflected in the GAL for some reason. Could anyone give some advice please? Kind regards, Rob

Hi Rob, Any update for your issue? How the partnership schools use your exchange e-mail system, do they use the mailbox with different smtp namespce or the same from your own using? May be the address list segregation would acheve your targets. Please refer to below: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb936719(EXCHG.80).aspx Regards! Hi Gavin, That’s more what I’m looking for than separate name spacing but still very messy, I just wish there was a simpler solution to just apply permissions on a contact or user bases. Thank you both for your suggestions shall do a bit more reading to see if it’s something I can use. Rob
