Contact and Distro Groups Migration
I've been migrating exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 and I understand that all contacts and distro groups get migrated to Exchange 2013 automatically. While on the Exchange 2013 server I had to update an email address for a contact. After doing so the
system ask me to upgrade the contact. Do I have to upgrade all contacts this way? Is there a script that upgrades all contacts and distro groups as required?

Try this command.
Get-MailContact -ResultSize Unlimited | Set-MailContact -ForceUpgrade
