Connector question
I'm getting ready to finish my migration from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 and I havea connector question. Currently the mail flows to my organization as this: Internet -> Smart Host -> Exchange 2003 -> Exchange 2007. In order to remove Exchange 2003 from the picture, I reconfigured my smart host to send mail directly to Exchange 2007. On my Exchange 2007 server, I already have enabled anonymous access on my receive connector and configured my send connector to use my smart host for sending mail. When I make the change on my smart host, to send mail to Exchange 2007, I can receive email from the internet, but I can't send mail out to the internet. I get the following reply from the postmaster. What I don't understand is why is mail trying to flow through my Exchange 2003 server if I configured the send connector with my smart host information? Generating server: Exchange2003.Domain.COM mike@gmailx.com#< #5.5.0 smtp;554 <mike@gmailx.com>: Relay access denied> #SMTP# After making the changes to my smart host, do I need to delete the connectors between Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007 for mail flow to work? After deleting the connectors do Ineed to do anything else? I thought I couldjust update the smart host settings test both incoming and outgoing mailflow before deleting the connectors so I can quickly fail back to the working setup. Any advice would be great! Thanks, Mike

Sometimes it's good to just walk away and take a break. I created a newsend connection on my Exchange 2007 box and then used the remove-routinggroupconnector cmdlet to remove the connectors between Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007. Everything is working well. Mike
