Connecting Outlook to different Exchange server in different forest
Hello,Our company mail domain is budden.com. We have an Exchange 2007 server named Exch.budden.com and our users have Outlook 2007 clients that point to this Exchange server. There is another company named buyout.com that we may purchase. If we do, we'll join their network to ours via a WAN link and also create them newAD accounts so they use our domain purely. Their mail domain would also change to budden.com.I'm thinking of the best way to set up their Outlook. On their local PC's, would it be possible to join the computers to our domain and then reconfigure Outlook to point to our Exchange server? Please note, their existing AD infrastructure will eventually be torn down so their username would be budden\user1 etc. Given that they'll be using the same machines, I'm just thinking of the best and easiest way to set up their Outlook to use our AD domain/Exchange.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123524.aspx is where you will want to start looking. The connectivity is pretty simple, you just need to make sure you have the fundamentals at the bottom sorted.

If their existing ad is going to be torn out and they will be using budden\user1 in that case you dont have any other option just to join their pc to your existing domain and configure OL since you are already running the EX2007 and OL 2007 Clients that will save your time to configuring the ol clients. because of autodiscovery feature of exchange 2007 Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|
