Connect outlook to 365 in order to use Skype for business
Hi
Skype for business is independent from outlook. it is basically the Lync client that will use your mailbox credentials to connect.

I have been trying to configure outlook on my PC. Previously I have only used Outlook web app for my mail. I have to use Outlook on my PC in order to use Skype for business. I have tried many times to connect, but keep getting the error
message that I can't connect to the server. I am using outlook.office365.com and smtp.office365.com as the incoming and outgoing server. What am I doing wrong!

Hi,
As Ed mentioned, do you deploy Exchange server in your environment, or have Office 365 account?
By default, Outlook can use Autodiscover service with account credential to auto-configure profile. If you use Office 365 account, please refer to below link to configure: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Set-up-email-in-Outlook-2013-or-2010-for-Office-365-6e27792a-9267-4aa4-8bb6-c84ef146101b
Besides, if you use a POP, IMAP client, you can use outlook.office365.com as incoming server, smtp.office365.com as outgoing server. More details about it, for your reference:
