Confused: Cannot access new Exchange 2010 server from Outlook or OWA
Hi all,
I just completed my install of Exchange 2010, but I can't make any progress with actually connecting to it in any way.
I have created a test user ('fred.bloggs') in the AD domain. I can log in successfully to a test PC running WinXP, but when I try to use Outlook to connect to my Exchange server, I just get:
"The name cannot be resolved. The name cannot be matched to a name in the address list"
If I try OWA (logging in as "mydomain\fred.bloggs") then I get the message:
The user name or password you entered isn't correct. Try entering it again.
I'd appreciate any input from you Exchange 2010 gurus!
Thanks in advance...
RS

Update:
I can now connect with Outlook, but OWA is still giving the same problem. I also can't connect to the Web Management Interface (not even as Administrator) on the Exchange Server itself. ("The user name or password you entered isn't correct.
Try entering it again.")
Any ideas? :^)
Thanks,
RS

Hi RoboScorpion,
Can you run test-servicehealth on your server? Also can you take a look in your Application Event logs?
Thanks,
Neil.

Might not be the issue but I would also check that users objects in AD have Inherit Security Permissions as well.
To do this
Click on View in AD Users and Computers and select Advanced Features
Open a user object and click Security tab
Click the Advanced Button
Select the box that says Include inheritable permissions from this object's parent
Click OK
