Does the user have an account in active directory? Can you post the error verbatim? Thanks Miguel Fra / Falcon ITS Computer & Network Support , Miami, FL

hi, yes, there is an account in active directory. owa works without problems. by configuring a new mail-profile i see 3 steps: 1) establish network connection 2) search for test@domain.com settings 3) log on to server after step 2 has finished i have to type credentials in a login-box. after that i receive error as follows: "The Action cannot be completed. The name cannot be matched to a name in the address list." best regards Anacrusis

Hi,Is this a issue with all the users? If so, i suspect this to be a issue with "Auto Discover".Also try to test email auto configuration.Ref to: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232838(EXCHG.80).aspx in regards to auto discover. Are you able to create a new profile with the exchange server's IP address?- Nagesh

Anacrusis, Is your outlook client is on a PC connected to a LAN subnet where the Exchange server resides or are you using RPC over HTTP? Is the PC where outlook client resides joined to the domain or is it in a workgroup? When prompted for the user name and password, are you using domain.local\user or just user to authenticate? @Nageshk : hi, no, this problem exists now for the first time. other users (8) do not have this problem. in step 2 it also access to autodiscover successful, no? @ Falcon ITS : hi, i tried both way. but in normal case, outlook is on a pc outside of exchanges lan and connect trough http. this pc is not in a domain, just workgroup. also note, that on same pc/outlook other (allready installed) exchange users works without problems. i just use username (no domain\). but i think that outlook finds something, cause it do not flash with a secon login (false credentials). it breaks with error: "The Action cannot be completed. The name cannot be matched to a name in the address list." @ManU PhiliP : hi, i used full email-adress as username. best regards Anacrusis

Is it replicating properly? Can you see the user in the Global address list? Active Directory Sites and Services -> Server -> NTDS -> Properties -> Check Global Catalog Restart. The try to connect again. Also, you can try this Delete the user. Re-create the user in AD from the PDC. Rebuild the Recipient Update Service from Exchange System Mgr. PLease check if the Hide from address list is enabled for the user from the exchange advanced tab in AD.If yes please uncheck the box and try creating the profile.Mahendra
February 19th, 2010 9:56am

Hi, Yes Mahendra is right. This error could occur if the mailbox's "Hide From Exchange Address Lists" property is enabled. Try to disable it by using following PowerShell command Set-Mailbox MailboxEmailAddress -HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled $false and then try to login again. Also check that this mailbox user is not member of some security groups who dont have permission to read Default Global Address List, or address lists which u see in "AddressListMembership" property of this mailbox user. Have a look at this thread too http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrdevelopment/thread/0f8f0d84-1878-4cfa-80d0-a245641285eb Regards, Laeeq Qazi|Team Lead(Exchange + Sharepoint + BES + DynamicsCRM) www.HostingController.com

Hi @all, sorry for my late response! @Falcon ITS : Yes, Exchange is Global Catalog Server as i can see in NTDS Properties. I don't know how I can open the global Address-List to check if my Address is in there(?). But if I logon to OWA and open address book I can see this address under 'global addressbook'. I also restarted all servers without any better results. I don't know how to 'Rebuild the Recipient Update Service from Exchange System Mgr.' @Frank.Wang : No, I do not receive warnings by using OWA. Yes, errors are exactly same as outside the network. (The action cannot be completed - The bookmark is not valid) @Mayu Mane : No, the checkbox for hidding address is not active. @ Laeeq Qazi : I executed your command successfully, but without any changes. If I CTRL-Rightclick to the tray-icon and go to 'check email-config', I receive this errors: - Autodiscover to https://domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml FAILED (0x800C8203) - Autodiscover to https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml FAILED (0x800C8203) - Local autodiscover for domain.com FAILED (0x8004010F) Best regards Anacrusis

Finally found a solution to this - might not fix your situation but I had all the same symptoms.. The Exchange server was rebooted a few days earlier and it appears a couple of services had not re-started. It was only when I tried to make changes to my profile after installing 2010 that I was affected - all others users were fine. Nick
