Configuring DAG cluster quorum

Hello All,

I am in process of installing Exchange 2013 SP1 Server. I have two exchange servers 2013 with combined roles. During DAG configuration I am facing some issues. Adding the node into DAG giving me Error "Some or all identity references could not be translated". I am configuring FSW on my Domain Controller running windows server 2012 R2. The Exchange Operating System is also Windows Server 2012 R2. I followed the below link;

http://exchangeserverpro.com/error-identity-references-translated-exchange-2013-dag/

everything was as it stated but the last command giving me error which configuring Fire share witness

the error is;

"Set-ClusterQuorum : There was an IO error validating share path '\\adds01\dagfsw.abc.com'."

I am attaching the snapshot also.

Please guide..

Here is how your permissions should look.

Shared Folder -

Everyone (Read/Write)

DOMAIN\DAGNAME$ (Read\Write)

Within the folder you created make sure the DOMAIN\DAGNAME$ has full access to write to the folder.

I can only modify the share permission as the folder is disappeared and I cannot change the security permissions. secondly there are 3 types of permission in share Full Access, Modify, Read.

the DAGNAMES$ has already Full Access Permissions.

Hello Sawag,

Agree with you that there is lot change compared to Exchange server 2010 and 2013 in architecture.

But as you said it might be due Iops but before confirming we need to check the logs and if required

1: I would request you to run PerfMon.

2: Also please check Health Manager.

2: Need to Check the Event Viewer -> Application logs and in depth of logs for DAG under

Windows logs -> Applications and Services logs -> Microsoft -> Operations Manager.

Regards,

Praveen

Thanks for reply. I followed all of your steps. even I used an other server for FSW but result are same. at the end I receive an error while configuring cluster quorum to Node and File Share Majority

"Set-ClusterQuorum : There was an IO error validating share path '\\adds01\dagfsw.abc.com'."

Indeed you don't need to do that.

DAG cluster is managed by Exchange. You don't need to (actually you should not) do any manual configuration.
