Configure Outlook 2010,2013 to automatically connect to exchange server over Internet
Hi Folks. Let me start by saying I am not an Exchange admin. I am on the desktop side of a division that was just sold to another company. We will be moving to an interm domain, that does not have a trust relatinship with the domain our new Exchange server is on, so we will be accessing the server via Internet. What id like to know is, is there anyway to configure Outlook to automatically connect to the mailbox? I get there will be no authentication so users will have to imput their password, but anyway to streamline this?

It depends on how far you want to automate things. When you have configured Outlook Anywhere on the server, all the users have to do in Outlook is specify their name, email address and password and Outlook will configure itself.

Hi,

If you want to access Exchange server with Outlook from external, we need register relevant DNS MX record and A record, apply for SSL certificate with required SAN. More details about Configure mail flow and client access, for your reference: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj218640.aspx

For your question, you can change the external authentication to Basic and set internal authenticaion to NTLM.
Set-OutlookAnywhere for your revenience: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123545.aspx

Thanks
