Hello and thanks in advance to any help that can be provided. I am an IT professional contractor and am troubleshooting an Exchange issue for a small company that I don't visit everyday. About 12 workstations with Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2000 running Windows XP in a Domain environment. There is a SBS2003 Server running Exchange. I configured Exchange for this company just like I have for various other small businesses that have no problem. The problem I have is that when clients send mail to other users in the domain, it gets routed locally through Exchange. This causes the mail to not reach the internet, thus not reaching the PDA's of certain clients. I'm pretty good at configuring Exchange to send and receive mail, but do not want to do that here for this company. All of the Outlook users are using POP mail and delvering the mail to the users mailboxes created in Exchange residing on the Exchange server. Is there any way to set Exchange up so that I can just use the features of exchange like public folders, sharing inboxes and contacts etc., but NOT have Exchange send or receive mail? I understand you probably want to tell me to configure exchange to handle it, but I am just asking. I have setup Exchange for other Domains that use POP and Exchange does not deliver mail. Everything leaves via POP to the internet. But this server is giving me headaches. Quick recap: Server: SBS2003 running Exchange 2003 Workstations: XP E-mail clients: Outlook 2003 and 2000 setup to send/receive POP mail. Connected to Exchange for mailboxes and shared folders. Problem: Exchange server routes mail from users in the domain to other users in the same domain locally. Desired Result: Have ALL mail in domain routed externally to mail hosts via POP in Outlook. MUST have computers connected to Exchange for the mailboxes and sharing of contacts and folders. Again......thanks for any help in advance. =]
