Configure Exchange 2010 to Accept E-Mail for More Than One Authoritative Domain
hi all,
i have Exchange 2010 organization for domain abc.com, and another company xyz.com which hosting their exchange with the ISP
i want to make them use my exchange server as their email provider, i have the following link for the configuration
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996314.aspx
my question is regarding the MX for the xyz.com company they have to change their it to point to the same IP address abc.com company pointing to or a new IP?
and during the change of the MX record what will happen to the emails they receive?
ThanksTarek Khairy

Yes.

That depends on whether the MTA at the address the MX references still
accepts mail for that domain. If it does, the mail woill be delivered
there. If it doesn't the mail will be returned as undeliverable.

MX records don't use IP addresses, they refer to "A" records. You can
have any number of MX records for the same, or different, domains
refer to the same "A" record name.
