Configuration Process always come out together with Office 2010 Applications

Dear Office 2010 Expert,

Our environment is using Microsoft Office 2010 Standard 32/64 bit volume license. Recently, I found strange thing whereby some of the clients computers' office application suddenly prompting for configuration process everytime we launch any office application. If we cancel it, the application will straight away close. if we continue, it will state that the configuration is not successful. I will need to login as admin and then run the configuration process and after that I need to activate the office application again and again by keying the product keys and then reboot the machine multiple times till the process end before get the office activated. This has happened to about 8 computers. What is actually could be the issue of trigger this? could it be any office applications updates? or because my license has out of quota?

Please advise.

Thanks.

Hi,

When this issue happens, please try repairing your Office installation to see if it will fix the issue.

If that doesn't work, try to fix it with the following methods:

Method 1:

Open an elevated Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\inf\defltbase.inf /db defltbase.sdb /verbose

Method 2:

Try start Office in safe mode, see if this problem will still persists. (Press and hold the CTRL key, and then click the Office program to start it in safe mode.)

If the problem does not occur in safe mode, this issue might be related to third-party add-ins. Disable the add-ins and start Office to see whether the problem continues to occur.

If the problem continues to occur in safe mode, we recommend that you uninstall Office 2010 and then install it.
