Computer suddenly restarts itself for no reason - Please help!
I have no idea why my computer monitor will suddenly go black and the whole thing shuts down then reboots itself. It is also running agonizingly s-l-o-w.I am running XPHome. My computer is about 3.5 years old.At first I thought it was because I was low on memory because I have so many huge photo files. So I got an external HD and moved them all over to it. That hasn't made any difference at all.Can anyone help me sort this out, please?Thank you.

You might have more luck with this question in the Windows XP forum: http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=2010&SiteID=17 Usually, when a Windows computer crashes entirely or reboots itself, it is a result of hardware problems or bugs with device drivers. The first thing I would do is to make sure that computer is completely up-to-date. Open up Internet Explorer, choose Tools -> Windows Update and then go to the Windows Update page. You should see a choice asking you if you want to install Microsoft Update. Do that, since that is a more thorough update. Once you have got it completely up-to-date, download a good Spyware software package and run it several times. Both STOPzilla and Spybot are good (and free trials). Next, run a complete defragmentation on the hard disk and see if that makes things any better. Hope this helps a bit.
