I have Windows 7 64-bit (not Ultimate) and the 32-bit version of Office 2010 works perfectly.

If you are having issues with it, try repairing the installation, via Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Programs and Features, scroll down to and highlight Microsoft Office 2010 and click Change (at the top). Put a check mark in Repair and click Continue. Ive noticed that sometimes when a file cant be found, you have to insert the DVD and restart the repair.
