Cluster FailOver
Hi Guys, I was just doing R & D in my Test Lab on Exchange Two Node Cluster : Active/Passive. I was testing the failOver. I have two node, node1 and node2, Node1 is active Scene1 -While disabling the Node1 Public Nic - It should failover to Node2, But its not happening - Resources is not transferring to node2, And while opening the Cluster Admin on Node2 It says netwok name not found, Same for Scene2. Scene2 -If i directly switching off my active node then also - the failover is not happening. -: But if I am restarting the active node - then i can see the transferred resources on Node2. I am surprising that - If this is the scene of FailOver, Then how can we relay on cluster. Friends - Please suggest.. I am waiting for your response......... Thanks and Regards, Ashwini Kumar :-:

What version of Windows and Exchange Server do you run? The cluster will automatically initiate a failover if it recognizes that the public IP failed because this cluster resource has the Affect the Group property set in Exchange Server 200x. I assume you have made a mistake either in the setup of Exchange or in your test case. This usually works bullet proofed.
