Clarification of Exchange 2013 CU8 Android Issue

Hello.  According to the following Microsoft article, some Android mobile device users can't set up an Exchange account after you install Exchange Server 2013 CU8.

The solution, apparently, is to "change the existing string from "true" to "false." in the Autodiscover web config file.  I am running Exchange 2013 CU5.  My web.config file has approximately 1450 lines in it.  The word "true" appears in the file in quite a few different places, none of which have anything to do with the MobileSyncRedirectBypass feature.  Please tell me exactly which item in the web.config file gets changed from "true" to "false". Thanks.

That;s probably something you need to do after you apply cu8.  i'm pretty sure each CU overwrites the web.config file anayway.

Hi.  Thanks for the response.  I believe that you are right about this needing to be done after CU8 is installed.  I would, however, like to determine exactly what needs to be changed in advance of that so that I can make the change immediatly after the CU8 installation is complete.

I sense that you might be suggesting that after installing CU8, there will be a new Autodiscover web.config file, and that it might be reasonably easy to determine where in that new file the change needs to be made.  Is that correct, or have I misinterpreted your response?  Thanks again!!

Excatly, CU8 is going to replace the web.config files in all the virtual directories with one that ships with CU8, which probably contains the code you are looking for.  Any customization to the web.config files would then need to be reapplied.

Thank you very much for the confirmation.  It would sure be nice if Microsoft would explain this in their documentation, as that would make planning the installation of the update much easier to do!!
