Choose send address when using pop3 connector
Hi All, New but hope someone can help, I have a client that has SBS2003 and Exchange. it utilises the Pop3 Connector for all incoming mail and a smarthost for outgoing mail. All works well and no problems. I have one question though...I have a user "susan" but she has 2 email addresses susan@theirdomain.com and admin@theirdomain.com. Both these emails addresses are set up on their 3rd party web\mail server and exchange retrieves them both fine with the pop3 connector and delivers them to her mailbox. But she can only send from the default account specified in her user properties. Is there a way for her to choose which account to send from just like as if she had 2 pop3 accounts set up in her outlook client? Obviously without having to go around and set up dummy pop3 accounts on all the PC's she uses just for outgoing mail for the non-default account. Thanks in Advance

As far as Exchange is concerned, all users only have one email address - the default. The fact that you are using the POP3 connector is completely immaterial. You have three options. 1. The dummy POP3 account that you have already outlined. 2. A third party application from Ivasoft called Choose From. 3. A second account in Exchange, which forwards to the first account. The user has Send As permissions on the second account and can then populate the From field with the second account and email will send.
