able to find an exact match to the problem we are experiencing:
When replying in OWA it works fine, characters stay in place in sent items and on the email the recipient getsWhen replying in OLK 2007 / 2010 cached mode it works fine, no missing charactersWhen replying in OLK 2007 / 2010 Online mode it starts to go wrong, the chinese characters in the displayname are replaced by question marksReceiving email is no problem, in the inbox the displayname is always correct
Chinese characters in the body of the email seem to stay put (but we dont speak chinese, so the body tends to be in english). If you save the recipient as a contact, outlook also displays the question marks in the displayname on the contactsheet, but also
only when in online mode. In cached mode the contact sheet displayname shows the correct characters.
I can use a properly formatted contact to send email and the displayname will stay correct, both in online and cached mode. However, copy/pasting the email + displayname will not work. Judging from the items in the sent mail folder, we have started to experience
this since we migrated, older emails are shown with the correct formatting. Sadly I cant confirm this because the Ex2k3 server has been removed already.
I have however tried this in another (unrelated) Ex2k10 environment with OLK2010 and the same thing happens there, so it doesnt seem to be unique to our site.
It's not a huge problem since email is going out and being received, but I'd prefer to solve it because it doesnt look very professional towards our supplier. Anyone got an idea how we can resolve this?
Thanks,
Andr
