Checkbox font resize issue

Dear Experters,

A weird issue bothering me these days...

I insert a ActiveX CheckBox inside a sheet (Excel 2010/Win7), I found if I clicked the checkbox repeatly, the font and little checkbox size reduced continually. I opened the properties pannel, and found its font size still not changed, but from the screen, the caption has already been reduced to very very small.

Please help me out here...

Hi

Thank you for using Microsoft Office for IT Professionals Forums.

You can try to change following terms properties

Autosize: Ture/False

Locked: Ture/False

Also check View tab in the Ribbon, in the Zoom group, click Zoom 100%.

It recommend create a new Worksheet in Safe Mode test this issue.

Please take your time to try the suggestions and let me know the results at your earliest convenience. If anything is unclear or if there is anything I can do for you, please feel free to let me know.

Hi William,

Thank your reply!

Actually, I used another solution to avoid using this check box...

However, I have tried your suggeston in a blank file. It looked like the issue fixed, but not 100% sure because I did not implement it to my orginal workbook...

Thanks a lot!

Edward

You cannot change checkbox size but you can use conditional formatting instead. Highlight column what you are trying to assign a checkbox to, go to conditional formatting, set up a new rule and choose an icon style.. Set up a check mark icon to number 1 and the rest to 0.. Go back to your file and type number 1.. Every time you are typing number 1 in your checkbox column a check mark will appear.. You can highlight a whole column and change Font Color to white ( so your number 1 wouldn't been seen on a spreadsheet) as well as change Font size to whatever size you need your check mark be..  You also can insert few columns around check mark and go to formatting and draw borders around your check mark sign..

Hope it helps...

Hi guys,

I am also experiencing this issue and it is driving me crazy. It is erratic and I am struggling with pinning down what actually triggers this. I created the sheet, added all active X boxes, and everything worked fine. Then all of a sudden, the font size shrinks when a checkbox is ticked. And for every time I tick it again the font size gets even smaller!

I can close the workbook and open it again, and all is fine. And the next time everything freaks out. It doesn't matter if the sheet is protected or not, or if the parameters autosize and locked are set or not.

I have serveral checkboxes, which I had grouped, so I ungrouped them, that didn't matter either. I am suppose to hand this over to a client soon and it works every second time :(
