Changing the internal URL for autodiscover?
Is there any way to change the internal autodiscover service to use an external address instead of an internal one?
I'm moving my organization froma .com to a .org domain and we just got a shiney new UCC for the mail server. I specified the .org domain names, and id much prefer to use the external lookups for outlook to connect than the internal one since 75% of
my users are on laptops.

You could change it, but if the clients are members of the domain they wouldn't use the URL - they get the information from the domain.
Autodiscover when the client is off the domain uses set addresses based on the bit of the email address after the @ sign - so if you are using domain.org then autodiscover.domain.org needs to resolve to the correct place - and be in the certificate, unless
you are using SRV records.

This Technet article explains how autodiscover works and covers both and external internal clients.

Hi,
Of course, you can do that as long as the certificate includes the name.
Thanks
