Changing the default IE favorites location via policy
I am trying to keep the IE favorites sync'ed between termserv and standard profiles. Since we use termserv profiles, when you login to a session, your termserv profile is copied to c:\documents and settings\userid. When you login to a standard workstation, the Standard profile is copied down. For users that travel, and have to login via thin client, the favorites that are in their standard profile are not the default in the thin client session. I have created an admin template to set the HKCU\Software\MicrosoftWindows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\favorites key to a common location on the user server. In theory, that should work. It doesn't. I have a feeling that IE, or, the client OS, forces the favorites location to %userprofile%\favorites, no matter whatI do. Is there a way to have one location for favorites that can be shared between the termserv and standard profiles? Thanks..
