Changing naming convention for user login...
Hello,I work at a school district and we are wanting to change the naming convention from first initial, lastname to firstname dot lastname .We understand that this may not be an easy process but was wondering if someone had some experience with this topic.Any help would be great.Jim

Are you looking to only change the user's login names, or their email addresses as well? What version of Exchange is in place (if at all)? If the latter, the best approach is to simply change both of the User logon name fields on the user's Account tab. Then (if using Exchange 2003) add a new SMTP Address on the E-mail Addresses tab, enter the new format, and then highlight it from the list and select Set As Primary. You may also want to change the Display Name, depending on your current configuration. This will change your user's default reply-to address, but still allow email addressed to their old address to be delivered. I suggest you keep the old addresses indefinitely. The changes to the User Logon names will be nearly instantaneous, but changes to the SMTP and Display Name addresses can take some time to propagate.

Hi Jim, You can do the modification on bulk users with ADModify.net. I would suggest you to do it first in test environment.
