Changing hostname for Windows 2008 running Exchange 2007
Hi, I have a newly installed Exchange 2007 on a Windows 2008 platform. After installing everything, i changed the hostname of the server to a name that i want but after changing the hostname, i have the following error in the event viewer. Error : Process MSExchangeFDS.exe (PID=2652). Unhandled exception occured in worker thread OABReplicationManager Thread. Exception message: Cannot find information about the local server exchange2k7.scc.org.sg in Active Directory. This may be related to a change in the server name. Current synchronization task is aborted. How can I resolve the synchronization? Thanks Yongsanyongsan

You shouldn't rename an Exchange server as things break. Uninstall Exchange, rename the server, then reinstall Exchange if you really need to change the server name.Neil Hobson, Exchange MVP
