Changing CAS hostname for Outlook clients
We're in the midst of migrating from ex2003 to ex2010. Things are going smoothly and we've moved over a couple of test mailboxes from our 2003 environment and are getting ready to migrate the bulk of our mailboxes starting this weekend. We have had a long standing issue with our Outlook clients not wanting to connect to the Exchange server in some situations while using our VPN. The reason for this is that when we first deployed active directory many moons ago, the setup wizard chose our old NT4.0 domain name and appended a .com to the end and we ran with it. The bad news for us is that this is a real public domain that we don't own, so when our client computers get out in the wild, they will sometimes fail to resolve internal IP addresses. That all being said, I thought I might be able to kill 2 birds with one stone during the migration to ex2010. My question is: Can I configure it such that my Outlook clients will use the same hostname for the CAS that I am using for ActiveSync, OWA, etc.? If so, how do I go about configuring this?
