Change in email id (Standardizing the ids) Exchange 2007
HiAs a company policy we have to standardize the email ids. Currently we have name@companyname.com. Now we would like to change the ids to Firstname.Lastname@Companyname.com. Any idea how to migrate without losing any email and less hassle for end user. Currently we are on Exchange 2007ThanksSuresh

Hey Suresh,You need to change the default email address policy. Add a new email address for firstname.lastname@companyname.com, mark it as a "Set as Reply" (don't delete the old smtp address name@comapnyname.com) and apply it in next step. How to Edit an E-Mail Address Policyhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201663.aspxThis will adda new email address and keeps old one as a secondary email address for all therecipients which have "Automatically update e-mail addresses based on email address policy" selected in their email address tab.Amit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
