Change Path button grayed out on install of Exchange 2003
Hi, I am trying to upgrade Exchange Server 2000 to Exchange Server 2003. I want to install it on the D: drive where the existing files are but the "change path" button is grayed out. How can I fix this. I tried a command line switch "E:\setup\i386\setup.exe D:\exchsrvr\" but that didn't work. It wants to put it on the C: drive and I don't have room on that drive, plus I want it to overwrite the old files. TIA

Hi, You can change the drive for windows installation file usin below, But changing resgitry can harm your system so be carefull, Also I did not check it for myself. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Changing the Location of Windows' Installation Files If you need to change the drive and or path where Windows looks for its installation files: 1.Open RegEdit 2.Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Setup 3.Edit the value next to SourcePath ------------------------------------------Anil

I find that in place upgrades of Exchange are rarely successful for very long. Do you not have any spare hardware so that you can do a swing migration? It doesn't have to be any significant, a high end workstation with enough disk space to take the mailboxes will do the job, so that you can rebuild the original server.
