Change Outlook PST path configuration for existing profiles

Hello,

I got to create a GPO to force archive for Outlook 2007, 2010 and 2013, all new profiles are well configured.

for old profiles, configuration is ok but pst location, I used also  the Expandable String Value ForcePSTPath, but nothing changes.

can someone tell me how to change the default path of pst archive files in Outlook parameter (regedit, script...)

Thanks.

Hi,

ForcePSTPath only works when creating a new .pst file or when connecting to an existing .pst file. For the existing .pst files, this registry key value doesn't work.

If you need to relocate the archive file, basically you need to:

  • Disconnect the archive file if it is currently connected.
  • Move the pst-file.
  • Reconnect the pst-file.
  • Modify the (Auto)Archive settings.

For the detailed steps you can refer to this article below:

Relocate the archive file
