Change Offline address book distribution method
Hello! I'm at a customer where we will do a migration from E2003 and E2007 to Exchange 2010. Clients are OL2003-2010. For some reason the oab distribution method is configured to be public folder only. They don't have any ideas why on my question is of you think we would break anything if we would include web distribution as an additional method? Regards, Uc

That should not cause any problems at all as long as you do it right. Outlook 2007 and later clients will try to use it, so if you misconfigure it (say with a bad certificate), they won't be able to download it. Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Thanks Ed! just out of curiosity, will the client fall back to use public folders if for example the client is connecting from a non-domain joined pc and we are using internal certificates on the server?

No, Outlook 2007/2010 will not fall back to use Public Folders for OAB Download.Martina Miskovic
