Change From / default reply address for individual email

Hello,

I use Outlook 2010 to connect to an Exchange server 2003 mailbox.  The mailbox has multiple email addresses associated with it for various domains and I would like to be able, when composing a new email, to specify which email address is the reply address.

Is this possible?

Thanks

Hi Steve,

Thank you for using Outlook IT Pro Discussions forum.

From your description, I understand that you have several email addresses in Outlook 2010. Now you want to specify the reply address when composing a new email. If there is any misunderstanding, please feel free to let me know.

Actually, if there are several email addresses in Outlook, when we compose a new email or reply to email, we can select the email address from the From list.

To change the default reply email, in Outlook, click File > Info > Account settings > Account settings. Locate your email account, click Change > More settings or Advanced settings. Then, you can change your reply email address.

Please take your time to try the suggestions and let me know the results at your earliest convenience. If anything is unclear or if there is anything I can do for you, please feel free to let me know.

Best Regards,

Sally Tang

Hi Sally,

Thanks for the reply.  I don't think your understanding of my situation is quite correct in that the multiple email addresses are all associated with a single Exchange mailbox.  I do *not* have mutiple email accounts set up in Outlook.  My from "list" only shows one item - "Microsoft exchange".  If I try manually typing in an entry in the "Other email addresses box then it is accepted but the email is returned undeliverable with a message of "You do not have permission to send to this recepient.  For assistance, contact you system administrator"

Don't have Outlook 2010. But in Outlook 2007, this is how you do it.

Compose a new e-mail | Message Tab | There's a small arrow right to Options - below Encrypt button (too bad I cannot paste a screenshot here) - click on that arrow | Check the box 'Have replies sent to:' and enter the e-mail address.

Jineshv

Thanks for the reply.  It's moved in 2010 (you now go to the Options ribbon and select "Direct Replies To"), but that's the answer!

Thanks

If you wish to change the From: field itself, google for ChooseFrom utility.

Sally, can you elaborate on where this setting is in Outlook 2013 please?
Change > More settings or Advanced settings. Then, you can change your reply email address. ?
