Hi Ashane -

You will have to purchase a new certificate that will not be a wildcard certificate. You can purchase what is called a SAN certificate (Subject Alternative Name) which allows you to add additional names to your cert.

In Exchange, you can go through the certificate creation wizard and add these names to create the certificate request and then go purchase a public certificate from a reputable source.

Thanks,

Jason

Hello Jason, Thanks for replying my question. Here's my next question. I have a domain calls ABC.com. Currently Wild Card is configured for *.ABC.com . If i have another domain calls DEF.net . How can i add for the SAN Certificate these 2 domains? I need to add these 2 domains for the exchange server because the DEF.net domain is in another company. If i purchase SAN Cert i have to add abc.com, autodiscover.abc.com, mail.abc.com, abc.local . how to add the DEF.net domain names to 1 SAN Cert?

Hi Ashane,

Thank you for your question.

If we want to merge two companies into a company, we could migrate .lk user account to .com and only use .com certificate.

If we want to two companies which are co-existed. We could keep the certificate for themselves, then we could create accept domain on Exchange server. we could also deploy Exchange server on .lk domain using .lk certificate.

If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

Best Regard,

Jim

What is the state you're trying to achieve ? Eg if you'll have all the @therecompany.lk mailboxes recreated in your Exchange organization and decommission the Zimbra server, there's no need to buy an additional certificate. The users of the company you've acquired we'll simply use the <portal>.mycompanyname.com as the Exchange endpoint (Outlook, OWA, ActiveSync, etc). As for the mailflow, the public MX records for the therecompany.lk will be changed so that they point to your Exchange Server (or mail relay provider if you're using one). On the Exchange side, you'll have to add @therecompany.lk as an accepted domain in order to have these addresses stamped on your new mailboxes.

And it sounds like you want to get some good consulting help here to help with the migration.  Please don't rely upon forum posts as the lynchpin for your solution.
