Certain users not showing up in Exch 2007 Default GAL
I inherited an Exchange 2007 environment. a few of our oldest users, like the CEO, don't show up in the GAL. It's only about 5 users out of like 50. I've done a bunch of research. These are the things i did and checked, in no specific
order, based on various things I've read.
I checked to make sure the users have the proper string values in the "showinAddressBook" setting for their accounts in AD.
I made sure the TRUE is no present in the msExchHideFromAddressbook value in their accounts in AD.
I ran the commands
Update-EmailAddressPolicy -Identity "Default Policy"
Set-Mailbox -ApplyMandatoryProperties -Identity (user)
which responded no settings were changed.
I checked the criteria used to populate the list
Name
RecipientFilter
----
---------------
Default Global Address List (Alias -ne $null -and (ObjectClass -eq 'user' -or
ObjectClass -eq 'contact' -or ObjectClass -eq 'm
sExchSystemMailbox' -or ObjectClass -eq 'msExchDy
namicDistributionList' -or ObjectClass -eq 'group
' -or ObjectClass -eq 'publicFolder'))
I read this article..
http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/management-administration/address-lists-exchange-2007-part1.html
When i run the command Get-Recipient -Filter {AddressListmembership -eq $dnGAL} where $dnGAL is the default global address list, the users DO show up in the list.
Any help is appreciated..
