Certain Images print preview color but print in black and white

Recently we upgraded all of our computers at our facility. (OS=Win7 Pro 64Bit, Office 2010 Pro.) ALL of the computers have the same issue that I am about to describe.

Pictures are inserted into ANY MS program. During print preview, all of the images are in color. Once printed, randomly, SOME of the images are printed in black and white while others are printed in color. The only resolution we have found is to edit each image that printed in black and white and increase the brightness to 52% (edited while embedded inside the document, not the image file itself).

Steps taken have been to install different types of drivers for the printers, printed to all the different printers (local and network), and changing options for printing. None of these have worked.

The current resolution is very time consuming and a waste of toner which is an unacceptable solution IMO.

Does the embedded picture still show black and white when you print it out as PDF or Microsoft XPS file?

If the problem happens even in a new creating Office document with new insert pictures, I think this might not be caused by Office application but it seems to be a printer output issue or source picuture itself (Is it a jpg format?). As the description you mentioned, the workaround is edited the problematic image and increase the brightness to 52%. Then we could get the color pictures, right? there might be something changed for the inserted pictures during the editing process. Thus, I doubt the original picture is the root of issue. Thanks.
