Cannot receive smtp mail.
I just installed Exchange Server 2003 with SP2. I tried to send smtp mail between two PCs, which are in the same subnet as the Exchange Server. Outgoing mail appears ok, as the mail is in the Sent box, not in the Out box, and the Exchange System Manage Mailbox shows an increment in the number of messages there. But the destination does not receive any email. The Event Viewer shows the following message. Please suggest what the problem is. Thanks. A non-delivery report (reason code unable-to-transfer and diagnostic code unrecognised-OR-name) is being generated for message C=US;A= ;P=itsb;L=LCSSERVER2-061213204627Z-18. It was originally destined for DN:CN=STEVE,CN=RECIPIENTS,OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP,O=ITSB (recipient number 1), and was to be redirected to . [MTA DISP:RESULT 16 136] (12)

Both two PCare Exchange 2003+SP2 installation? Have you create SMTP Conenctor(usingsmart host)to each or your exchange can nslookup another DNS MX Record?

Did you ever get an answer to this problem or get it resolved? I'm having the same issue. There is only one Exchange server in the organization, 2003 SP 2,and it's running in Native Mode. When I send mail it leaves the outbox andgoes to the Exchange server. The server creates the necessary queue (if it's an external address). The outgoing message gets copied to the Sent Items. But the message is never received and my event ID 290 is identical to the one sc101 posted above. Any ideas?? Please! Kirsten
