Cannot open or repair Outlook.PST file
Previously, I saved a outlook.pst file...never had any previous problems opening/closing etc.

I reinstalled Outlook 2007 on another computer (old one does not exist now) and cannot open the file. Have used/followed instructions...or at least I think I did correctly but with no luck.

There ARE some contact info I need so I do need to access again.

Thanks

Hello,

The problem of accessing data file arises due to several issues, like either your profile is not configured correctly so it is unable to sync your old file with the current profile.

You can re-configure your Outlook profile, or can also try to open file by following the below listed steps:

1. Select the created profile, then properties.
2. Click on "New", to add the existing "Outlook.pst" data file. NOTE: If asked to select the format of the data file, then select PST(personal storage table).
3. Click ok to proceed.
4. On returning to Account Settings Dialog box, click "Set as Default" button.
5. Now remove the PST file that was by default created when you have configured your profile. Because a single account cannot hold two default files at the same time.

Alternatively you can import PST file.

Hi,

Since you haven't provided any error message or other symptoms, the information I provide may be not accurate.

In addition to these provided suggestions above, you can try Scanpst.exe to repair the .pst file, maybe it has been corrupted and this is why you can't open it.
