Cannot login to exchange after installing new DC
I recently installed a new DC in my network to replace my old one. I transferred all roles and everything is working perfect. Except for exchange 2007. As soon as I power down my old DC, I cannot login to exchange anymore. I tried everyting I could think of, but nothing works; Exchange only works when my old DC is powered up.Please help!

You may want to do a metabase cleanup, and ensure the roles have been transferred. You can also run DCDIAG or force replication between the 2 DC's. Seems as if the issue is with the your DCPROMO rather than Exchange.

Hi Atverwejj, Firstly, I would like to know what you means regarding cannot login to Exchange 2007. Whether is any error encountered when opening the Exchange Management Console or other symptoms? Please also check whether the new added DC was discovered and listed in the Working DC list. You can check the list by viewing System Setting tab of the Exchange Server through Exchange Management Console. Or you can run the following commands: Get-ExchangeServer For your reference: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb629520(EXCHG.80).aspx If the new added DC is not listed in the Working DC list, please view the Event\Application Log to check whether any related error is recorded. Please especially notice the Source MSExchange ADAccess and Event ID 2080 to check whether the new DC was discovered. For more information regarding how to read and diagnose the 2080 event, please refer to the following KB: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316300/en-us Mike

I got it working now.In the Local Domain Security policy, I added the exchange server computer account to the Manage Auditing and Security Log rights. Strange that this dit the trick, because the group Exchange Servers already had this right. And the Server computer account was already member of this group. Thanks for the answers given.
