Cannot fix alias on contacts or distro lists
Hi, Recent migration from Exchange 2000 to 2007. Most all of my contacts & distro groups are broken. I cannot edit them, add anything, etc. Here is the error I receive. Warning: Object has been corrupted and it is in an inconsistent state. The following validation errors have been encountered: Warning "" is not valid for Alias .. yada yada yada Now the worst part is even if I try to change the alias with the Exchange Management Console OR AD it still gives me the invalid Alias issue. Any help is appreciated, thanks

The easiest way is to use the old ESM to edit those objects. You can of course use the new EMC or EMS. The most common thing is that alias field contains the space char.

What happens when you use EMC totake properties on an object that is incorrect you should get a question about editing this object... this script is also good stuff http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2007/06/15/441802.aspx
