Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook cannot access the specified folder location.
Guys, I have quite a problem here that i am unable to figure out. Heres the story: I am a Domain Admin/Exchange Admin on my domain. We are using Exchange 2007 and Windows 2003 R2 AD. The problem i am having is that in the past i was able to add other user mailboxes to my account and then open them for administration. Now i cant! I add myself to the selected users account, granting FULL ACCESS PERMISSION. I can then add the mailbox through account settings > change > more settings > advanced. This adds the mailbox to my outlook account. When i try to access it i get the following error message "Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook cannot access the specified folder location." When my account was first created, i was able to access these added mailboxes whereas now i am unable to access them either within Outlook or from OWA. I have deleted and recreated my mailbox to no avail. I have also recreated my AD account and reassigned the permissions, but still no luck. I am looking for some help regarding this issue as i am unable to figure it out and it is affecting my work. Your help is appreciated. Regards Angelo

Hi, By default domain admins are denied the rights to open other users mailboxes. If you try to create another user account for yourself (with no windows administrative permissions) and then assign this user account mailbox permissions to other mailboxes it should work Leif

If you want to keep your account, ( or atleast in Exchange 2003 ) create a group and assign it full permission to the database or Exchange server under the security tab. A group will supercede you doman admins permissions. Add yourself to the group. We call our Exchange Recovery.
