Cannot create subfolder if the public folder mailbox database is secondary

Hi there,

on our exchange 2013 cu9 server we have the following problem:

When a user wants to create a new subfolder within a public folder structure the error "cannot create folder" appears.

This only happends in Outlook (2013). When I use the exchange admin center it works.

This problem only appears if the folder belongs to mailbox which is a secondary mailbox.

I can move the public folder to the primary mailbox database using a public folder move request. Then it works. So my question is: What is wrong there ?

The access rights are set to owner.

Thank You for a tip.

Greetings, Andy

Hi,

Please add the error message in details.

I have noticed the issue happened on outlook.

Please confirm if you can create sub folder on OWA.

Also check some related event logs for further analysis.

Hi,

the error message is: the folder cannot be created (translated from german)

Unfortunately there is no error in the eventlog on the server or client.

Only this informational event appears on the client in the eventlog "Microsoft Office Alerts":

Source: Microsoft Office 15 Alerts

Event-ID: 15

Layer: informational

Eventtext:

Microsoft Outlook

The folder cannot be created

P1: 300181
P2: 15.0.4727.1000
P3: 6xk3P4: 0x80004005

Regarding Your question to owa: Can You tell me how to create a subfolder using owa ?

Thank You!
