I have MS powerpoint file with 98 slides in pptx format. When i open that is Powerpoint 2010 and try to save as 'ppt' file , I get an exception "PowerPoint found an error that it can't correct. You should save presentations, quit, and then restart PowerPoint."

Any other way to Save pptx as ppt file in MSoffice 2010 ?

Does this only happens to this specific .pptx file? This specific error is generic, lots of reasons could cause this.

Sometimes, the problem doesnt come from PowerPoint in itself, but rather from the elements you used in your presentation. Specifically, pictures and/or ink drawings. You probably need to check your slides in this powerpoint file, follow the instructions by Sandy Johnson in this thread:
